Q. Hadlee, what did you do at the beach?
A. Kissed a boy.

Ten more days until my school year starts. I thought, many moons ago, that I'd be able to retire after last year... and then Brandon showed me the exact number of dollars that we owe. After I cleaned up the floor I just looked at him and said, "So I guess I'll have to put retirement off for a few years, huh?" Oh well!

I'm moving from eighth grade reading to sixth grade language arts, reading and history. We'll see how things compare.

Hadlee and I were discussing her big 3 year birthday party that's one month from today (GASP!!!! Where did the time go?!??!?!). She's trying to decide between Mermaid and "Cwab" or Care Bears. I'll go w/ the Mermaid theme, just to hear her say "cwab".

This just in... I'm ready to go back to the beach. My dear friend, Vette, and I are going down on a girls only trip over Labor Day weekend... Come on September!

Word to the painting wise... when they tell you that if you get an eggshell finish to your paint that you'll have to paint the entire wall instead of only doing touch ups, they really mean it. We're buying a 5 gallon tub of paint for the painters who will take care of all the nail pops and settling cracks that have happened over the past two years. Fun. I asked if they'd consider painting in all new colors, but he said it wasn't' in the contract. Dang it. :)

!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Earlier this afternoon Hadlee came into the kitchen at full speed yelling, "Mommy, Mommy, look at what your son is doing!" and pointing to their little table in the dining room. Well, here's what "my son" was doing... the little monkey! :)

Isn't his fro stinkin' awesome?!?!?! His hair is REALLY long, but until people start referring to my little sneaky, mischievous boy as a girl, I don't plan on taking shears to his little bunkin' head.

MAJOR EXCITEMENT!!!! I just received an e-mail from our photographer in Seagrove Beach, Dede Edwards. Her talent behind the camera is AMAZING!!!! Anywho, she's put a few snapshots of our family portrait up on her blog... the last picture pretty much sums up Hadlee and Kaleb's future, don't ya think?:)

Back from the beach

We were honored to take part in one of my best friend's weddings in Seagrove, FL last week. While at the beach for a wedding, why not add a week to your stay and enjoy the sand, surf, and food? So, that's exactly what we did! Vette and Paul's wedding was PERFECTION! Hadlee made her debut as a flower girl... and I must say she did a bang up job of it! As soon as the cd of pics is sent to me I'll post a smattering on here, stopping just shy of Hadlee and Jack cuteness overload. :) To get your fix on pics for now you can visit the photographer's blog.

We were able to spend most of the week with my favorite college roomie and her family. Netta, J, Kaleb and Kolton joined us at "Aunt Mae's beach house". The children took up with each other immediately. Hadlee and Kaleb married each other and sealed the deal with a kiss, so I guess that's all taken care of. They fought like newlyweds and, I would say they made up like newly weds, but that's just wrong to say about a 2 1/2 and 5 year old! :) Also, Kaleb dropped trow and did his thing while we were enjoying an afternoon on the beach so she DEFINITELY has to marry him now that she's seen it "all".

As you can see, the old blog has taken on a refreshed look which means I lost any current links that may have been here. So, if you stop by PLEASE leave me a comment so that I can re-link to my blog peeps.

I need coffee.

Out.
